Who I am

Let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Vanessa, and I have lived in the US and Canada. I’m a writer, editor, and educator with a deep respect for voice, your voice. With master’s degrees in English Composition(almost, only 3 classes to go!) and Music Education, I have over 15 years of experience teaching K-12 music and 2 years of experience editing and tutoring graduate-level writing. Don’t let my “lack” of editing experience count against me. I have the life experience supported by previous educational career experience, and a voracious reading routine (over 200 books and countless articles a year) to provide excellent editing services that fit your needs as a writer!

Developed from my experience as a writing tutor for a large online university, I excel at detailed, supportive edits that are returned on time and with quality feedback. My goal as an editor and writing tutor is to respect your voice while offering feedback and edits that educate and elevate.

Whether I’m editing your research paper, coaching you through a challenging draft, or refining your article, I bring both editorial skill and a teacher’s eye to the process. My approach is thoughtful and collaborative. I aim to elevate your writing by preserving the rhythm and integrity of your voice while strengthening structure, flow, and clarity.
